This teapot for Gyokuro is called “Hohin”. It has no handle and is great for Gyokuro / high-end Sencha. These green teas are steeped at low temperature and this teapot, Hohin, works really well. The teapot is Mino-ware made in Gifu prefecture, Japan. Love the minimalist design with slightly blue-ish white color ceramic and it is very practical.
My new Japanese friend from Banff gave me the award-winning Gyokuro from Shizuoka, Japan. Thanks to him, I made the tea with Hohin and the taste of Gyokuro was incredible!
