A unique Japanese black tea smoked with Japanese whiskey cask wood from Shizuoka prefecture. Top quality of the first flush tea is used and the smokiness of the tea is light, compared to the famous Chinese smoked black tea called ‘Lapsang souchong’. It’s not overwhelming and has a mild fruity flavour with notes of oak. 


Cultivar: Yabukita

Region: Kaneroku Matsumoto-en, Shizuoka Prefecture

To make

Tea: 6 gm or 2 tbsp

Water: 300-350 mL at 10°C 

Steep: 3 min.

To make cold brewed tea:

Tea: 15-20 gm or  5-6 tbsp

Water: 1000 mL (4 cups) at room temperature 

Steep: 3-4 hrs. to over night in the fridge
