A unique teapot from the Tokoname region in Japan. Tokoname-ware is made of fine-grained clay containing a high amount of iron; reducing tannin and bitterness and providing iron. This teapot is designed for functionality with a unique built-in, hand-made strainer. The design makes it easy to pour tea and clean. The strainer has 88 holes is eighty-eight: the number of days in the tea-picking season. It comes in white, gray and black. A larger version: 99 Kyusu Tsukumo (310 mL)
