A unique flat kyusu teapot from Tokoname, Aichi prefecture. Tokoname-ware is a famous for clay with high iron content suitable for steeping Japanese green tea. The clay has a brownish black color and doesn’t show stain inside. It has a wrap around built-in strainer and no-drip spout. This flat shaped teapot provides a wide surface space for tea leaves to fully open up in a small teapot. Tea leaves spread out in the wide base of teapot promoting an even steep. This is especially helpful for gyokuro or high-end sencha teas to infuse better flavour. Traditional, functional design for ease of use and cleaning.
