Ocha Zuke (Japanese Rice Soup with Green Tea)
Ingredients
- 2/3 cups cooked Japanese rice
- 3/4 cups steeped Japanese green tea (Sencha / Gyokuro / Houjicha/ Genmaicha – your preference)
- Topping: seawead, rice crackers, pickled plum, wasabi, sesami seeds, Furikake (rice seasoning) or a package of instant Ocha Zuke mix.
Preparation
Place cooked Japanese rice in a rice (or soup) bowl and put some toppings or an instant Ocha Zuke mix on the rice.
Steep one Japanese green tea in hot water.
Pour the hot green tea into the bowl. Mix all ingredients before you eat.
