Takeo Tea Farm – Ise Region

The Takeo family has been growing green tea for four generations in Mie Prefecture, a rural area surrounded by the Suzuka mountains. The Takeo farm has been certified as organic in Japan for over thirty years and produces excellent teas with great flavour. It is a family business and they grow, harvest, process and package the tea.
Located next to Nara and Kyoto, Mie is the third largest tea-producing region in Japan. The mild climate and relatively low altitude give this Ise tea a rich, full-bodied grassy flavor, especially the sencha teas.
