These attractive sansai (two and three-colour glazed pottery) Mino-ware yunomi (teacups) are greenish yellow with blue, dark yellow and dark green drops. The kannyu (crackle) glaze has fine veins unique to each piece that will stain and change the character of the teacups over time. The sansai technique originated in Southern China and Southeast Asia and was introduced into Japan in the 7th century. The different colours are created by different glaze combinations.
