This handcrafted gokushou (“extremely small”) kyusu from the Takasuke kiln is yellow, rather than the usual reddish clay colours of the Tokoname region. Ashes of different kinds of wood are used to create variations in color such as the yellow of this teapot. Its size makes it perfect for gyokuro and high-end sencha and kabusecha teas. This teapot is perfectly balanced and easy to handle. It has a built-in sasame style ceramic mesh strainer and no-drip spout.
Yunomi Senchawan Teacup Tokoname (60 mL) and Yuzamashi Tokoname - Takasuke (120 mL) can be matched with this teapot as a set. A larger version: Kyusu Teapot Tokoname - Asamaru (310 mL).
